COUNCIL CANDIDATES 2017

At the ERA-EDTA General Assembly in Madrid (Spain) on 5 June 2017, two ex-officio Council members and three Ordinary Council members will be elected.

NOTICE OF ELECTIONS

When considering the notifications below, it is essential that members are aware of possible country limitations with regard to the elections.

EX-OFFICIO COUNCIL MEMBERS
According to the ERA-EDTA Constitution (article VII 02), notice must be given at this time of the ex-officio Council Members whose terms expire in 2018. These should be nominated at the 2017 Spring Council Meeting and then elected at the General Assembly in Madrid (5 June, 2017). They will then participate in the Council for one year before taking office (Copenhagen – 26 May, 2018) with voice but without vote. All candidates for ex-officio positions must be full members and have been active members of ERA-EDTA for at least 5 consecutive years.

ERA-EDTA Chairperson of the Administrative Offices – M. Ketteler (Germany) will end his second term as an ERA-EDTA ex-officio Council Member in 2018. He cannot be re-elected for another term. Full members who wish to apply for this ex-officio position must send their candidacy letter to the Secretary-Treasurer by 13 February, 2017. Full details regarding the documents needed to apply for this position can be found at our website.

Chairperson of the Registry – Z. Massy (France) will end his first term as an ERA-EDTA ex-officio officer in 2018. He can be re-elected for another term. All full members who wish to apply for this ex-officio position must send their candidacy letter to the Secretary-Treasurer by 13 February, 2017. Full details regarding the documents needed to apply for this position can be found at our website.

IMPORTANT! Please note that, according to the ERA-EDTA Constitution, no Italian candidates can be accepted for these ex-officio positions since the Council will already have two members from this Country.

ELECTION OF NEW ORDINARY COUNCIL MEMBERS - During the General Assembly in Madrid in 2017, three Ordinary Council Members must be elected as A. Argiles (France), P. Evenepoel (Belgium) and A. Ortiz (Spain) will have completed their terms. We strongly encourage all full ERA-EDTA members to participate actively in the election of the three new Council members, both by submitting their candidatures and/or voting for the election of the new members. If you are interested in becoming a candidate for election to Ordinary Council Member, please send your candidacy letter to the Secretary-Treasurer and complete your application online by 13 February, 2017. Full details regarding the documents needed to apply for this position can be found at our website. These details will also be sent automatically by means of e-mail blasts to all ERA-EDTA full members.

IMPORTANT! Please note that, according to the ERA-EDTA Constitution, no Italian, French or German candidates can be accepted for the Ordinary Council Membership election as the Council will already have two members from these countries.
