Further success for the European Certificate in Nephrology (ECN) examination!

The ECN exam was developed as a collaboration between the UEMS Renal Section and Boards and the ERA-EDTA, in conjunction with the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK. “We are very pleased with the results of the second sitting of the ECN examination held on 28th February” said Dr. David Lappin, Exam Lead ECN at The UEMS Renal Section and Boards. “Forty-five doctors from nineteen countries sat the exam in twelve centres across Europe and neighbouring countries” said Dr. Lappin. “Twenty-eight of the forty-five candidates were successful, representing an improved pass rate of 62.2 %, when compared with the previous years’ exam. We are excited to announce that we will be presenting certificates in person to successful candidates who can attend the upcoming ERA-EDTA annual congress in Copenhagen. Delivering a high-quality exam will drive standards, promote harmonisation of training across the EU, and further enhance opportunities for free movement of doctors across the EU” concluded Dr Lappin.
