What I would hope to achieve as an Ordinary Council Member
As LNDTA president I know nephrologist from all over three Baltic countries, I know actualities of
small countries and I can contribute to making closer big and small European countries. Being many years liaison officer in ISN SRI programme, I had the opportunity of getting to know nephrology situation in Belarus and in Ukraine. I can contribute into the developing stronger relation between ERA-EDTA and Belarus and Ukraine. As well I am active in undergraduate and postgraduate education.

Career 1987-1989: Fellow in internal disease, Kaunas Medical Academy, Lithuania 1989-1992: PhD student in nephrology, Sechenow Moscow Medical academy, Russia 1992-2001: Assistant nephrologist, Department of Nephrology, Hospital of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Kaunas Clinics 2001-2011: Associate Professor, Department of Nephrology, 2011-present: Professor, of Department of Nephrology and from 2012-present: Head of the Nephrology Department.
Accomplishments Academical work at University Hospital let me to be involved in to clinical practice, education and
research activities. I have various research interests including CKD, kidney transplantation and
diabetic nephropathy. I was guiding 4 PhD students on topics: factors associated to HD patients
survival, quality of life, prognostic factors of severe acute kidney injury, risk factors of CKD in primary care and currently I supervise 2 PhD students on topics vascular calcification and biomarkers in kidney transplantation.

Active member of Lithuanian association of nephrology, dialysis and transplantation (LNDTA). Since 2005 I became a council member LNDTA, in 2015 and in 2018 I was elected President of LNDTA. I participated in organization of many national or international conferences in Lithuania and national guidelines formation. Since 1997 I was Liaison officer in ISN Sister Renal Centers programme: Kaunas – Gent (1997-2009), Brest – Kaunas – Gent (2010-2015); Luck – Brest – Kaunas (2016-present). Since 1995 I became a member of ERA-EDTA.
Other I grew up in medical family, my husband is professor in medicine. I like to spend my free time in
nature, in village near the lake and pick mushrooms in the woods.
