|What I would hope to achieve as an Ordinary Council Member
The ERA-EDTA must focus on engaging younger nephrologists; we are the future & we need
investment. As Chair of the YNP, I am in an excellent position to facilitate this. The YNP have a
number of superb initiatives which are designed to encourage & engage younger nephrologists to
participate more actively; however much more can be achieved. I hope that as a council member I could represent the younger members of our community & address our needs by promoting activities which would be of value, for example, improved access to learning resources for the European certificate examination, opportunities to write & review for NDT & ckj & an improved social media profile with easily available educational resources. Ultimately, I would like to make the activities of the ERA-EDTA more accessible to a far wider and more diverse audience. This is essential to allow the organization to progress.

|I have been involved with YNP since 2015 initially as a board member & latterly as Chair (since
2017). The YNP has developed a number of initiatives to promote nephrology & support current
nephrologists in terms of education & experience. In my role as Chair, I have continued to expand & develop these initiatives as appropriate to the needs of our membership. The YNP has a very active social media profile, we run at least one CME course annually & we have new initiatives including plans to interview members at the 2018 congress, collaborations with NDT & ckj to allow reviewer experience & the opportunity for a National Society to have a YNP member speak at their congress. I am Theme Editor for NDT Digest. Locally I am a member of the Scottish Vasculitis Short Life Working Group. I co-authored UK National Transplant Guidelines & I am on the MRCP question writing board.
